Leon Rumac
IRC Nickname: Exacerangutan
Character Name: Leon "The Tiger" Rumac
Original Dimension: Lunar (Silver Star Story)
Race: Human
Age: 19
Sex: Male
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 195
Likes: MUSCLES; tough girls; grit and determination; good health practices
Dislikes: wimpy, lazy people and nerds; unhealthy eating; impractical, flashy bodybuilding
Physical Description (Or picture):
Leon is has a moderately tall, somewhat lanky build like his father—but unlike his father, he has exercised religiously for years, giving him a figure like a heavyweight kickboxer. He still isn’t normally a huge kind of bodybuilder guy, but he also knows the difference between a big muscle and a powerful, well-used muscle. He also wears his hair shorter than his father, but keeps it in a neat if lower-key pompadour, as well. He has a little bit of a tan, but he’s never tanned that well, and has only acquired what he has so far because of his Kyle-worship. He usually dresses in loose tunics and pants in a rough approximation of a gi type of deal.
Powers and Special Abilities:
Muscle Mending (low cost): Moderate healing spell. Any target.
Muscle Flex (low cost): Moderate boost to attack and defense power. Any target.
Energy Legs (medium cost): Large increase to attack rate and movement range by greatly increasing the rate at which the muscles can use energy. Any target.
Natural Flex (medium cost): Removes all physical status effects. Self only.
Menergy Drain (high cost): Decimates a target's strength, toughness, and speed by blocking off their muscles’ use of power, potentially weakening them too much to even stand. Any target.
Ultimate Flex (very high cost): Huge boost to strength, endurance, and toughness, as well as a regeneration effect for the spell's duration. Self only.
Weapons and Gear:
Burn Gauntlets: Since he doesn’t use standard magic, but specializes in unarmed fighting, staves would make no sense—so his parents (despite his father’s resistance and whining) commissioned a pair of magic gauntlets enchanted with the element of fire. They can light on fire during battle, causing flame-type damage, and make his hands effectively heat-proof, although this doesn’t automatically protect the rest of him. He can Use Item instead of attacking, throwing fire as a not terribly powerful ranged attack, but he really does more damage by punching the crap out of things. His boots/shinguards are a matching set with the gauntlets.
Weaknesses:
Leon's spells obviously depend on the availability of magic power, and this can run out, forcing him to rely on his natural strength, body hardening, and martial arts training.
Background:
Some time after the events of the Silver Star Story, Lemia Ausa formally stepped down from her position in charge of the Magic Guild of Vane, placing the responsibility Nash Rumac and her daughter Mia Ausa. It was only a few years longer before Nash finally grew a pair—mostly from spending some time in a position of real authority and responsibility rather than merely being a glorified henchman—and proposed to Mia. For some reason, being Mia, she continued putting up with his crap, too. Anyway, they ended up having a child as married couples are wont to do, and Nash took the opportunity to name his son Leon—the only way he could express his Ghaleon fanboyism without having the shit kicked out of him by all the other Heroes.
With Vane grounded and interacting with Meribia, Nash’s worst nightmares became inevitable history: hanging out frequently with Selena—the daughter of Kyle and Jessica, two of the other great Heroes—Leon ended up becoming a raving fan of the whole de Alkirk family, and especially Kyle and Hell Mel (although he also greatly admires Selena and Jessica for their strength!). Not only did he admire Kyle’s bravado, but also his great physical power; and moreover, he was certain that magic could be turned toward the pursuit of true physical perfection. To that end, Leon delved intensely into his magic studies, rivaled only by the intensity of his workouts.
Within a few years, Leon was making breakthroughs in an area of magic which had scarcely been explored at all for ages: where magic had centered for centuries on attack and defense spells, they had all remained chiefly detached and elemental, rather than interacting directly with the physical body. Leon’s focus, however, led him to use his classes in magic theory to develop whole new approaches to spell effects—including healing by magic rather than through prayer to Althena, even though he never came to match the healing prowess of the priestesses.
Using his studies of anatomy (vital to developing his magical techniques), Leon also developed an unarmed fighting technique to go along with it, although he’s still working on coming up with a name for it. His best idea so far is “Musclambo.” Yeah, still a work in progress, there. Anyway, it’s mostly a lot of kickboxing type of material with a bunch of hard grappling and nasty strength-based wrestling moves mixed in with some qin na-like joint control techniques.
